More on June 3rd Meeting

Liz Von Wellsheim gave a presentation on “Aging Well” at our December, 2024 member meeting. She was only able to convey about half of her presentation in the time allotted. Her presentation was so well received by our members that we have asked her back to complete her presentation at our June 3rd member meeting.

Liz is originally from upstate New York and received two Master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: a Master’s in nursing in the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Program in 1986 and a Master’s in Social Gerontology in 1987. She has practiced in Oregon since 1988. Liz has worked in a variety of settings, hospitals, nursing homes, home care, hospice, etc. always to improve care for older adults.

Professionally, Liz served for five years on the board of the National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioner with her final year as President. She has also served on the board of Oregon Geriatric Society for seven years, one year as President.

Liz has recently retired from clinical practice, but her passion for geriatrics, especially those with cognitive impairments, will always be there. She is currently providing geriatric coaching to families or persons struggling with dementia or other age-related issues. Liz also speaks on many topics related to aging locally and nationally.
